The success of Anita Mui's career in recent years tells us what is called luck. Her success continues and never stops. First singing, and then filming. She got The Best Female Singer Award in 2 consecutive years, and now she just returned from Taiwan, holding the Gold Horse Award tightly in her hands. (If success continues, that means it is not just by luck lar....by Woodstock)
She is used to big occasions, she always remains calmly facing a few 10s thousands of audience. But this time when she stepped out of the gate of airport, when she saw a few tens of reporters and fans, she was so happy that she almost sobbed, and couldn't even talk. She was surrounded by crowds until she got to the media room, then she smiled, holding the gold horse stature in her hands and kissed it. Then she told us the following:
[On the day of award presentation, I already prepared what to say, had to thank this and that. But when I heard the MC announcing my name, I was frightened and I forgot everything. When I got onto the stage, I really wanted to cry, but that night I was dressed in a very elegant cheongsam, and I had a heavy make-up, if I cried then my face will be all smeared with make-up, and I would lose all my composure.
[That night, we had a celebration in the hotel room, the phone never stopped ringing, all my friends called sending me congratulations. Even my friends at Fuji TV Station in Japan called me too, I was really very very happy.
[Frankly, to get this award, half depends on my luck, the other half is my hard work. I believe, only if you are willing to give, it is just a matter of timing, you will reap the harvest in the end. Take this as an example, for "Rouge", I read a lot of books, such as "Yuen Ling Yuk", I found that my life is similar to Yuen Ling Yuk, also similar to Fleur of "Rouge". As I was too much indulged in those two persons, for a period I even thought I was Fleur.
[Though I got award for "Rouge" that is classified as a comparatively very artistic film, it doesn't mean I will only concentrate in this type of film. In between I have to shoot some comedies that have better box office, as I still have to eat (survive) mar.
[I got award this time, it is an encouragement to the actress of Hong Kong. For HK films, actors are always the focus, such as the type of "Better Tomorrow", but in "Rouge" actress is the focus. I was very fortunate that I could play the role of Fleur. I hope after I got this award, the actresses of HK will try harder, to get more glory for HK film.
Reporters kept on asking her to lift us the gold horse statue higher, but Anita Mui said: [Very heavy. Is it real copper?] Correct, this pure copper stature gives very heavy pressure, but at the same great encouragement.

金馬銅像 重重的壓力 不輕的鼓勵
梅艷芳近年來在事業上的成績，似乎在告知我們什麼叫做運氣，她的成就沒有止息的延續下去，首先是唱歌，後來是電影，連奪了兩年全港最佳女歌手不止，剛從台灣回來的她，更牢牢的握著一座金馬銅像。
一向見慣大場面的她，面對數萬歌迷似是那麼輕鬆，但今次從機場的閘口走出來的她，見到數十名記者和歌迷，竟然也高興得差點兒流下淚，甚至說不出話來，一直被人群簇擁至記者室坐下後，她始能定定的笑，手裏的緊握那銅像，連忙的吻過不停，以下的就是她的幾段說話。
「在頒獎那天，我本來已準備好講詞，要多謝這個多謝那個，可是當時我一聽到司儀叫我的名字，嚇得腦袋一片空白，上到台時，我真的想哭，只是當晚穿了華貴旗袍，化了濃粧，一旦哭出來就會變成大花面，什麼儀態也沒有了。」
「當天晚上，我們一伙人在酒店房中大事慶祝，電話響個不停，全都是朋友們祝賀我得獎，連日本富士電視台的朋友也打長途電話來，我實在高興到不得了。」
「講真，今次的得獎，一半當然是運氣，另一半則是自己的努力，我相信的是，只要你願意付出努力，假以時日，一定會收到成果的，比方今次我為了這部《胭脂扣》，我看了不少書，如《阮玲玉》，我發覺自己的身世如阮玲玉有點相似，又似《胭脂扣》的如花，由於太著迷於這兩個人物，所以曾經有段時間，差點走火入魔，當正自己是如花。」
「雖然我今次憑《胭脂扣》這部比較上藝術成份高的電影得獎，並不代表我以後會全拍這種戲，間中也要拍番兩部比較賣座的喜劇之類，我也要吃飯的嘛。」
「話雖我在電影方面有所成就，但我決不會全身投入拍戲，唱歌仍是我最愛，以後我仍會作歌影兩棲，直至我退休為止。」
「今次我得獎，可以說是對本港的女演員的一種鼓舞，香港的電影一向是以男性為中心，例如《英雄本色》這類電影，而《胭脂扣》是一部以女性為主的電影，我自己非常慶幸可以飾演如花一角，我希望自我得獎後，香港的女演員以後更加努力，為香港電影爭取更多殊榮。」
記者不斷的叫她提起那個金馬銅像，但梅艷芳卻說「很重啊，是不是真銅做的？」不錯，這尊銅像真的給予阿梅很重壓力，又有不輕的鼓勵。
