No Generation Gap with Yam Zei
(1989) -
The famous Cantonese opera singer Yam Kim Fai passed away, but the love bestowed on her from people has never been diminished during all these years. At the same time, she had a good relation with many contemporary artistes, including the very famous Anita Mui.
Two artists of 2 different generation, but they were very good friends. There was a story about it. Ah Mui said: [Since I was young, I have been her fan. Four years ago, I was introduced to Yam Zei by Eddie Lau. At that time, I was going to have my concert. She cared about me a lot, and asked me not to eat certain things, as to protect my voice. We just knew each other, but she was already very nice to me.]
She was introduced to Yam Zei by Eddie Lau, now the news of Yam Zei passed away was brought to her by him too.
[When I heard the news, I cried immediately. I felt bad for the whole day, whenever I thought about her, I could not hold back my tears.]
That day, Ah Mui's eyes were swollen and red due to crying. But what made her sadder was that she could not see Yam Zei for the last time.
Ah Mui said: [When Yam Zei was hospitalized, she still asked people to send regards to me from time to time. I promised her that I would go to the hospital to see her. But I was so busy with work, no time to go to see her. Yam Zei really loved me a lot.]
Ah Mui respects Yam Zei, and also feels their relation is close like relatives.
[Once I told Yam Zei the sad story of how I started very young in my career, she told me her experience of how she started. We found our experience was very similar, maybe that is why we could be so compatible.]
In the eyes of Ah Mui, Yam Zei is a real good person.
[After Yam Zei passed away, there has been praises only from people of this circle. So you can see how much people respect her. How she lived her life, really worth to be our role model. But for me, to be like her 100% is impossible.]
What can Ah Mui learn from Yam Zei?
She said: [Yam Zei was very nice to people. She had no temper. Even she had to work very late, very tired, she could remain to be very polite to people. I feel all people have mood, so I know I can't behave like her.]
But Yam Zei has influenced her, and served as an alarm to her.
[From now on, when my temper comes, I would think about Yam Zei, and remind myself to control my emotion.]
Ah Mui knows Yam Zei well, and went to her home often. Does she think Yam Zei was easy to get along?
[In the past I heard people mentioning Yam Zei was very fierce, actually she was not. Yam Zei was a very nice person. She and Fairy Zei were a good pair, one was tough and one was soft. Even when they were arguing, you would feel they were affectionate to each other.]
Though Yam Zei already passed away, Ah Mui will still remember this dear friend - Yam Zei.
Got attacked when cried at the funeral of Yam Zei
(1989)
At the funeral of Yam Kim Fai, Anita Mui cried badly, even worse than Yam's students such as Ah Boa, Ah Tim, Chan Po Chu and etc. After that there was an article criticizing her that she used deceased person for publicity. Actually what is the relation between Yam Zei and her, and why she cried to badly?
On the day when Ah Mui attended the opening of the fashion shop of Eddie Lau and Michelle Yeoh, she talked to us about that issue herself: [I forgot where I saw that article. How does that person know my relation with Yam Zei. Did I have to make public every time I went to the home of Yam Zei.]
Ah Mui got very upset and she said she was very mad about that article.
[That article also said Yam Zei and I are artists of different era, how could we be so close. I admit, I got to know Yam Zei through Eddie Lau. Eddie Lau always talked about me in front of Yam Zei, and Yam Zei would ask Eddie to send me regards. Though we didn't see each other often, our relation grew just like that. Also Yam, Pat love Eddie Lau a lot. Maybe because of this, they like me too.]
Ah Mui cried badly at the funeral, because she felt guilty towards Yam Zei.
[When Yam Zei was still alive, I promised to visit her in the hospital. But I was busy with my work, I didn't go. In the funeral parlor, when I looked at Yam Zei, I felt very guilty, I could not hold back my tears. I never stopped crying with Ah Boa and Po Chu.]
Since Ah Mui started working in this circle, there are always so much rumors about her. At first she really cared about those rumors, now she would not be affected by them anymore. But this rumor drove her out of control.
[I got mad for this, because the writer doesn't respect Yam Zei. I don't care if I got attacked, but it involves Yam Zei too. I could not control my anger. Try to ask yourself, with my status of today, do I still need to use this for publicity? Really difficult to be a human being.]
Ah Mui then laughed at herself, from now on whenever she goes to meet any person of this circle, she would report to the media.
She laughed bitterly: [Then people would not say that I claim all sorts of relation lar.]
However, the good friendship between Ah Mui and Eddie Lau is well known.
She said: [He is very fond me.]
They are good friends, both have great experience in fashion. They can invest in fashion shops together, can be good business partner.
Ah Mui shook her head and said: [I know how to dress myself , but don't know how to design for others. Also I'm too busy with my own work, I don't have time for other business.]
Although Ah Mui has never taken fashion courses, she has good taste in dressing. Maybe just like singing and performing, she has talent in that.

認識四年無代溝成莫逆
梅艷芳難忘任姐
要學習她的涵養
戲迷情人任劍輝不幸與世長辭，這位紅極一時的伶人，她受人愛戴的程度並不受年代所減退，同時，她和這一代的圈中人亦素有交往，其中包括現在的大紅人梅艷芳。
兩個不同年代的藝人，卻成為莫逆之交，當中是有一段故事，阿梅說：「我自小便是她的戲迷，四年前在劉培基介紹下認識任姐，當其時我開演唱會，她很關心地叮囑我要戒口，不要影響聲線，我們不過初相識，任姐已對我很好了。」
當年劉培基介紹她倆認識，任姐溘然去世，亦是劉培基向她告知死訊。
「我一聽到這個消息，立即哭了出來，整日心情不好，每想起任姐，都難忍眼淚。」
當日，阿梅已哭到雙眼紅腫，但有點令她更為傷心，是未能見任姐最後一面。
阿梅說：「任姐入了醫院，病躺在床，也不時托人問候我，我還應承她到醫院探望，可是一直工作忙，騰不出時間，任姐真是很錫我。」
阿梅尊重任姐，還覺得對她的感情如親人般親切。
「我曾將小時入這行的辛酸史告訴任姐，她也將入行時的經歷告訴我，發覺彼此的經歷很相近，可能因此令大家投緣。」
在阿梅眼中，任姐是真正的好人。
「任姐死後，圈中人對她有褒無貶，便可知她深受各人尊敬，她的做人方面，好值得學習，但對我而言，要學足她是沒可能的。」
任姐究竟有什麼地方值阿梅學習？
她說：「任姐待人的精神很好，她不會發脾氣，就算熬夜，工作辛苦，對人仍保持禮貌，可是人有情緒的，自問學不到呢。」
不過，任姐對她的影響還是有的，對阿梅有一定警惕作用。
「以後我發脾氣時，會想起任姐，警惕自己要控制情緒。」
阿梅與任姐熟絡，經常上她的家，而任姐在她心目中，又是否容易相處的人？
「以前聽人說任姐好惡，其實不是，任姐也很好人，她與仙姐如一對活寶貝，她們一剛一柔，見她們在拗撬，亦是好親切。」
任姐雖然息勞歸主，但阿梅卻永懷這位親人──任姐。

梅艷芳任姐喪禮上哭如淚人招閒言
激動地說：外人怎知我倆的關係？
梅艷芳在任劍輝出殯當天，哭成淚人，比其徒兒阿刨、阿嗲、陳寶珠更為淒涼，事後有一篇文章指斥她借死人做宣傳，究竟她同任姐有何關係，在喪禮上哭成淚人。
阿梅當日出席劉培基與楊紫瓊的時裝店，她主動向記者提及此事，又言：「我忘記了在那份報章看到，此人怎知我同任姐關係，莫非我每次到任姐家中，都要公諸於世嗎？」
阿梅語調激動，她坦言為此事十分嬲怒
「該文章又說我同任姐係兩個不同年代的藝人，關係怎會如此密切，我得承認，我同任姐認識，主要是劉培基的關係，劉培基經常在她面前說起我，任姐便會托他問候我的情況，彼此見面不多，但感情卻在無形中培養出來，而且，任、白很疼錫劉培基，可能有此關係，她們愛屋及烏，亦對我很愛錫。」
阿梅在喪禮當天，泣不成聲，此因她對任姐深感內咎。
「任姐生前，我曾應承到醫院探她，可是我事忙未有到，在殯儀館瞻仰任姐遺容，感十分內咎，眼淚己忍不住汨汨而下，當日我同阿刨、寶珠，眼淚一直沒有停過。」
阿梅出道以來，經常有謠言發生在她身上，起初她曾十分介懷，經時間的洗鍊，如令已到了爐火純青的地步，情緒上不會再受影響，可是今次謠言，卻使她千年道行，一朝盡喪。
「我為此事發嬲，係因執筆人對死去的任姐不尊重，我被人攻擊有什麼所謂，但涉及任姐，我不禁怒火中燒，試問以我今時今日地位，還需以此做宣傳嗎？做人真係難。」
阿梅自嘲以後她同圈中人來往，須無時無刻向外間報告行蹤。
她苦笑說：「以後便沒有人說我亂扯關係。」
姑勿論如何，阿梅與劉培基的好友關係，卻是人所共知。
她不禁地說：「他好錫我。」
他倆如此老友，對時裝打扮又別具心得，大可合作開時裝店，做一對生意上好夥伴。
阿梅搖頭說：「我識為自己打扮，不識為人設計，而且我工作已很忙，那有時間兼顧其他。」
阿梅雖然沒有學過時裝設，但打扮愈見品味，可能這和她唱歌、演戲一樣，有其天份吧！
